1940’s Vintage Industrial metal top cart or table on cast iron wheels

Another really unique piece from the long since shuttered Standard Tapestry Co.,  makers of fine tapestries for nearly a hundred years during Philadelphia’s industrial heyday. IMG_2943

Made sometime in the ’40’s. it has soft green paint and original stencils. It’s been thoroughly cleaned, and then waxed to protect the patina of the paint and metal. The original top is wrapped skillfully in tin, and over the last 50 or so years has acquired a wonderful patina, full of dents and dings acquired in the old factory. I can make out faint “Maint. Shop” stenciling on the ends, and ‘Standard Tapestry Phila” is on both sides at the bottom. Would make a fine table in almost any room, and rolls easily on cast iron casters. It’s 32″ tall, 30.1/4″ wide, 22.1/4″ deep.       $850

You can just make out the “Maint. Shop” stencils on the ends.
